## Why it matters to you

Most of your deadlines count from the day after it, including the [due diligence period](https://www.buywisehome.com/guide/glossary/due-diligence-period). If it's a Wednesday and you have 10 days, day 1 is Thursday. Work out your exact deadline with the [deadline calculator](https://www.buywisehome.com/guide/tools/due-diligence-deadline).
